Retail Sales Drop Unexpectedly in April

When the commercial real estate market crashes because people aren't going to the mall anymore, and Visa and Mastercard and Discover all go under because people are defaulting on their payments en masse, will we then admit we're in a depression? I guess an economy that shrunk at over 6% for two straight quarters and lost over half a million jobs for how-many-months-in-a-row-I-lost-count isn't enough...
