Again, the root issue here, one that neocon slobs like the Cheney's would like you not to ponder, is how it is determined one is a "terrorist", who in turn should then be denied all basic human freedoms. It never strikes anyone on the "right" as frightening that the government has assumed the power to label anyone they so choose, with no due process at all, a "terrorist" and reduce their status to that of a lesser being than a stray dog. Not even your Constitutional rights as a US citizen can save you anymore. The government can detain you as a "terrorist" if they don't like the color of your eyes. It's totally rogue, criminal, out of control. And it's completely lost on them that Obama's administration has adopted the Bush administration tactic of
verschärfte vernehmung (enhanced interrogation) - aka torture. So the right to remain silent isn't much of a right, if they're going to torture you into telling them what they want to hear.
Raw Story -Authorities questioned the failed Times Square bomber for three to four hours before notifying him of his rights, but Liz Cheney seems to be ignoring that fact.
The daughter of the former vice president told Fox News' Chris Wallace that the Obama administration's "first instinct" was to read wannabe bomber Faisal Shahzad his Miranda rights.
"When the administration captures a terrorist and their first instinct is to inform him that he’s got the right to remain silent, that is exactly the wrong way to win this war," Cheney said Sunday.
