White House: Stop Marketing Unhealthy Foods to Kids

On second thought, maybe stupid, fat and weak is a bad combination. Maybe just make them stupid, but not so fat and weak. Can't maintain the empire if your potential pool of military recruits are morbidly obese and addicted to FatDonalds. Problem is, a lot of the best brain cell killers also contribute to obesity - MSG, aspartame mainly. Maybe they can ban MSG, HFCS, and aspartame, and just implement mandatory vaccine programs. Dump more fluoride in the water.

Notice that there's a discussion about a tax on sugar (there's already a tariff on sugar imports, which is why, along with government subsidies, HFCS is so dominant in our food). Will they kill subsidies on corn sweeteners - even tax it? Surely you can't be serious. They'll attack salt and sugar and ignore the food additives that really make people not only obese by themselves, but also hungrier more often and addictive to food.

    CBS News -

A White House report warns "The childhood obesity epidemic in America is a national health crisis."

The review by the Task Force on Childhood Obesity says one out of every three children is overweight or obese. The task force is a key part of First Lady Michelle Obama's campaign to solve the problem of obesity within a generation.

The report includes familiar themes, emphasizing the importance of improved nutrition and physical activity. It also calls for some new and dramatic efforts to curtail marketing of unhealthy foods.

"We have a roadmap for implementing our plan across our government and across the country," Michelle Obama told reporters today.
